Consultancy services were provided to:

Consultancy Works

Project: 3 kW Solar Off-Grid System
Place: Hemnahalli Gram panchyath, Maddur taluk, Mandya District.

The Gram Panchayath was facing huge power cuts from morning 10 am to  5 pm, which was affecting their  regular work. Even though they had 1.5KVA  UPS system. It was able to give backup only for 2 hours. Hence the P.D.O approached MGIRED to take up consultancy work. With all Government procedures the project was completed in 20 days.

The Solar off grid system consist of:

  • 1.8kW Solar PV panel – 300Wp , 6 No’s
  • 3KVA Inverter
  • 12V, 150Ah, C10 rated Solar Tubular batteries – 4 No’s

Cost of project was Rs.3.6 Lakh including MGIRED consultancy charges. This system was able to power up 2 computers, 2 Printers, 1 Laptop, 5 Fans and 5 Tubelights and 0.5Hp water pump.

In Addition to this, the same system is used to power 10 no’s of 20W LED AC Street light, which are installed upto 1 km from GP building. Further, by additing 2 more batteries, the same system can be used to power 15 nos. of 12W AC Street Light for SC/ST Colony. This centralized sytem avoids and overcomes the drawbacks of standalone street lights like theft and maintenance problems.

In centralized street light system the batteries and panels are located in one place and helps for easy and regular maintenance.
